BREAKING: Further bottled water recalls as FSAI and HSE launch investigation




The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has confirmed there has been further recalls of bottled water due to high arsenic levels.

In a statement issued today, the FSAI confirmed that the recall was issued as part of an investigation into Celtic Pure.

The FSAI say the investigation which is being conducted by themselves and the HSE has led to the recall after an above normal levels of arsenic were discovered in bottled water products which are on sale at a number of the country’s leading supermarkets.

The FSAI say the recall has been issued purely as a precautionary measure and the affected products do not pose any significant danger and the discovered levels of arsenic should not lead to any adverse health effects.

However consumers have been advised not to drink the affected products purely as a precautionary measure.

The FSAI also say that all providers of the affected products have been notified and they are co-operating with the relevant authorities and have begun removing all affected products from shelves at their stores.

The statement comes after a number of supermarkets including Dunnes Stores, Aldi, Mace and Londis were forced to remove bottled water products on Friday.
