Gardaí in Longford have confirmed that they have arrested three people following the discovery of a shotgun and ammunition.
It is understood that three women were arrested after the vehicle were travelling in was stopped and searched by Gardai on the outskirts of the town on Monday.
Gardaí say the three women are currently being detained at Long Garda Station.
