A man in his 30s has appeared before Bray District Court in connection with multiple home burglaries carried out in Co Wicklow over the last 12 years, reports RTE.
Jimmy Cash, aged 36, of 7 Daletree Place, Ballycullen, Dublin, is facing charges linked to four break-ins that occurred on Wednesday, 24 September 2025, as well as one older burglary from March 2013.
Detective Garda Tadhgh O’Connor, based at Wicklow Garda Station, presented evidence of the arrest before Judge David Kennedy, reports RTE.
He told the court that Mr Cash had been taken into custody yesterday in relation to four residential burglaries that happened this Wednesday in Co Wicklow, along with another one dating back to 2013.
The earliest of Wednesday’s incidents took place in Clonpadden around midday, where a gun safe was taken. Det O’Connor stated that a shotgun stored inside the safe is still missing, reports RTE.
Three additional homes in the Annagowlan area were also targeted, with cash and valuables reported stolen.
Mr Cash also faces charges related to a March 2013 burglary that occurred in Blainroe, reports RTE.
Mr Cash’s legal representative, barrister Sorcha Dianamh Nà Néill Fulham, made an application for bail.
Detective Garda O’Connor voiced opposition to bail, citing the seriousness of the offences involved, reports RTE.
Judge David Kennedy denied the bail request and ordered that Mr Cash be held in custody, with his next court appearance scheduled via video link on October 2nd.
A second suspect, a woman in her 20s, also appeared in court yesterday in relation to the same investigation, reports RTE.
