A 32-yr-old man has been remanded in custody following a high-speed pursuit involving armed gardaĆ across counties Meath and Westmeath. He is now facing multiple charges linked to a series of thefts from businesses in Cavan, Louth, Meath, and Monaghan, reports RTE.

Luke Wall, whose address is listed as Cois na hAbhainn, Bonninconlon, Ballina, Co Mayo, appeared before Cavan District Court earlier today.

He is charged with 12 separate counts of trespassing at various commercial locations, during which thefts are alleged to have occurred, reports RTE.

The incidents are said to have taken place between 5 August and 9 September 2025, with five businesses reportedly targeted as recently as Tuesday.

The charges are brought under section 12(1)(b) and section 3 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud) Act.

Mr Wall also faces a charge of dangerous driving — alleged to have posed a significant risk of death or serious injury — on the N52 near Cloughan, Mullingar on Tuesday. This offence falls under Section 13 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997, reports RTE.

An additional charge accuses him of trespassing in a way likely to cause fear at a hotel in Carrickmacross on the same day.

Mr Wall was arrested by gardaĆ on Wednesday, reports RTE.

No bail application was made during this morning’s court proceedings.

However, solicitor Róisín Courtney asked the court to ensure that Mr Wall receives medical assistance, citing serious addiction issues, reports RTE.

Judge Raymond Finnegan remanded the accused in custody and ordered his appearance via video-link for next Wednesday’s sitting of Monaghan District Court.

He also directed that Mr Wall be given access to appropriate medical care in the meantime, reports RTE.
