40-yr-old Connie Foley apologised to John O’Leary in court on Friday afternoon in Cork.
Mr O’Leary was in his wheelchair in Cork last September when the thug attacked him after asking him for money and drink. Mr O’Leary fell out of his wheelchair during the attack with the thug fleeing the scene leaving him on the ground.
Thankfully Foley was caught on CCTV and was arrested and charged.
Foley had 127 previous convictions and was recently just out of jail when he attacked Mr O’Leary in his wheelchair.
On Friday, Connie Foley was jailed for 5 years for the evil attack with Mr O’Leary saying that only God can forgive him and that other wheelchair users should not be afraid.
