Ticketmaster warns public of fraudulent ticket sellers before concert-season

Due to dishonest ticket vendors posing as the organisation, Ticketmaster has issued a warning, reports RTE.

According to the report, a phoney ticket vendor located in Dublin is promising customers tickets for last-minute pickup from the venue on performance night or advance tickets, which are not available.

“Unfortunately, some fans have already lost large sums of money to this individual,” stated Ticketmaster, reports RTE.

It urges “all concert, sporting, theatre and festival goers to be extra vigilant for fraudulent ticket sellers falsely claiming to represent the authorised ticket agent (Ticketmaster)”, reports RTE.

The organisation said that it is collaborating with An Garda Siochána and that plans for improved security and ticket verification are being put in place for all upcoming events.

“Verified tickets can only be purchased directly from the official authorised agent Ticketmaster.ie and not bought through a third party,” Ticketmaster said, reports RTE.
