Tidy and clean: Kildare town named cleanest town in Ireland for 2016




It has recently been revealed that Kildare town has been named the cleanest town in Ireland for the year 2016.

The county Kildare town came out on top after the Irish Business Against Litter found it to be cleanest town in its Anti-Litter League survey.

The small town located just off the M7 held off stiff competition from other rural towns including, Roscommon who finished second ahead of Asbourne in County Meath, followed by Waterford City in fourth position.

The survey also found that 70% of the country’s were deemed cleaner than their European counterparts.

However it wasn’t all good news as urban areas were found to be seriously littered, with areas including Galvone in Limerick, Farranree in Cork and Dublin’s North Inner City found to be the worst litter zones in the country.
