In a staggering development in research into quitting smoking, it’s now claimed that twice as many people will quit smoking for good if they take up e-cigarettes.
In 2016 and forecast for 2017, the Irish government will spend a mammoth €40 million trying to get people to quit smoking. This includes offering support services, GP visits, medical card visits and national advertising.
The Hiqa report finds that nicotine replacement, not just in theory but in practice, sees e-cigarettes discontinuing withdrawal symptoms and the satisfaction for smoking.
E-cigarettes include the equivalent of 40 cigarettes and are a sustainable alternative to smoking.
Research shows that if more people start to use e-cigarettes, the State would save €2 million and that twice as many people would quit smoking if they used e-cigarettes for good.
