Hassan Khan, 2, had been the object of a Child Rescue Alert in August last. He was found safe and well only an hour after that alert was raised.
Yesterday, the young boy was found dead.
The boy’s mother, named locally as Hazel Waters, was arrested at the scene under Section 4 of the Crimina Justice Act an is being questioned in relation to the incident.
The child’s father, a Pakistani man in his 60s, has been informed of the events.
Sources refer to the toddler’s death as a ‘dreadful tragedy.’
