Toll charges have increased on ten routes around the country

Most car tolls have gone up by 20 cents per trip, with the exception of some tolls which have increased by 10 cents or 30 to 50 cents for heavy goods vehicles, reports RTE.

Specifically, on certain roads such as the M1, M7, M8, N6, N25 at Waterford, and N18 Limerick Tunnel, car tolls increased by 20 cents to a total of €2.30.

The toll on the M3 went up by 10 cents to €1.70, while the M4 toll increased by 20 cents to €3.40, reports RTE.

In addition, tolls for the Dublin Tunnel during peak times increased by €2 for cars.

The goal of these increases, according to the Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), is to maintain capacity for heavy goods vehicles accessing Dublin Port, reports RTE.
