Top professor claims that Ireland may face another 12 months of restrictions until vaccination is widespread




With Leo Varadkar claiming that Ireland will finally see an end to the pandemic in 2021, others say that it could be the very end of the year before that truly happens.

A top professor is warning that Ireland might face ‘another year of restrictions’ until vaccination is widespread.

Prof. Aoife McLysaght, who works at the Molecular Evolution Laboratory in Trinity College, said that restrictions might need to remain in place for some time.

The Covid-19 is currently being rolled out across Ireland and elsewhere, but it will be months before any real impact is felt.
