In quite an astonishing achievement, the Irish people have dug deep in their pockets this weekend and given millions of euro to children who need it.
The annual Late Late Toy Show certainly got Christmas started on Friday night with some declaring that it was the best toy show that they’d seen in years.
Host Ryan Tubridy interviewed a number of friendly and fun kids who showed off their toys and talents to the nation.
Among them was Saoirse, who had her right left amputated in the last 12 months. The inspirational little girl stole the hearts of the nation with her forthright attitude and good natured personality.
Tubridy announced a Toy Show Appeal to help children in Ireland at Christmas by calling 1800 111 800. By the end of the show, some €5.25 million had been raised and was growing. As of late on Saturday night, over €6.25 million was raised thus far.
