It’s been revealed during an inquest this week that a tragic accident led to the death of 13-yr-old Ebony Cheshire of Rainhill in the UK.
According to Metro, on December 2nd 2018, Ebony died after suffering a seizure. She was rushed to hospital but medics failed to revive her. Doctors found Ebony’s death was drug induced.
A police investigation commenced and evidence of powdered MDMA also know as ecstasy was discovered in a Lucozade bottle that Ebony had used earlier.
No arrests are expected and the police are satisfied Ebony had unintentionally taken the drug by mistake.
However, both Ebony’s mum Kerry Cheshire and her Grandad dispute the findings and have been outspoken about the police investigation.
Ebony’s family say that a neighbour spotted Ebony and another unidentifiable girl hours before her death.
The Coroners office told the inquest that “extremely high levels” of MDMA were found in Ebony’s system following the post mortem and stated “should there be fresh evidence the police will look at the fresh evidence” reported Metro.
In a heartbreaking testament to Ebony’s memory, Ebony’s mum Kerry said “‘My baby girl, I love you more than life itself and your brother is heartbroken. ‘Fly, my beautiful princess. Your mummy is heartbroken. I hope you realise how much I love you and how I would have swapped places with you in a heartbeat. ‘I begged them baby girl, but they wouldn’t let me.’
