Gardaí in Co Offaly have sadly confirmed that a 70 year old man has died following a collision with an articulated lorry in Ferbane.
It is believed the man who was a pedestrian was killed after he collided with the lorry on the N62 Ferbane to Athlone Road at approximately 7.30am this morning.
Although attempts were made to save his life, paramedics tragically confirmed that he later died at Tullamore hospital.
Meanwhile Gardaí say the driver of the lorry was uninjured in the collision.
They also say an investigation is currently ongoing.
