A 21-year-old man has died in a drowning accident in Co. Waterford, reports RTE.
Three people got into trouble while swimming at Whiting Bay in Ardmore this afternoon.
Irish Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter 117 was deployed from Waterford along with Ardmore and Youghal and Youghal RNLI Coast Guard units, reports RTE.
Two of the swimmers made it to shore safely.
The 21-year-old man was taken to University Hospital, Cork, where he was declared dead, reports RTE.
