Police in France have confirmed this morning that a young girl has sadly died and at least 12 others have been injured after a driver crashed his car into a pizza restaurant located near Paris on Monday night.
It is understood the victim, who was aged 13, was killed when the driver rammed his car into the sidewalk cafe area of a pizza restaurant, Pizza Cesena, in Sept-Sorts, which is around 36 miles east of the city.
A police spokesperson has confirmed that the driver was arrested soon after the incident on Monday night.
Meanwhile France’s Interior Ministry has confirmed that the incident is not terrorist related as police reports confirmed that the driver was suicidal and that he had no known links to extremism.
