Emergency services responded to a call originating from an apartment in Upper High Street, Killarney at around 6pm this evening.
A baby boy received medical treatment at the scene, but was sadly pronounced dead shortly afterwards. The circumstances leading to the tragic outcome have not yet been made public.
A man in his 30s was also removed from the scene and rushed to the University Hospital in Tralee with serious injuries.
A post mortem will be carried to determine the exact cause of the baby’s death.
