19-yr-old Ellen Finnegan tragically died in a fire in the early-hours of Saturday morning.
Emergency services battled the firre to save her after the blaze at her house at Lower Square in Castlewellan, Co Down.
Bartley, Ellen’s father runs the local butchers while her mum Nichola died in January 2013.
SDLP MLA Sean Rogers said: “My thoughts are with Bartley and his wider family circle. This news is simply heart-breaking and the feeling around Castlewellan is utter shock.
“Castlewellan is such a close knit community that will rally round and support those who are so harshly affected by losing this angel at such a young age.”
Ellen’s funeral is expected to be held during the week.
