Gardaí in Co Monaghan have confirmed that an elderly man aged in his 70s sadly died following single vehicle collision in Castleblayney.
It is understood the man was killed when his car left the road and struck a wall in the Lakeview area, at approximately 1.30pm this afternoon.
Gardai say the man’s body has since been transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda where a post-mortem examination will take place.
