A homeless man has tragically died in Dublin city on Friday, not far from the Dáil.
This man who is known to sleep rough was discovered on Dawson Lane by a member of the public yesterday morning. Gardaí arrived on the scene a short time later and informed local businesses in the area to inform people who were arriving for work. Meanwhile a staff member at a local cafe in the area told reporters that the man was known to people in the area.
The tragic death comes just a year after another homeless man named Johnathan Corrie was found dead just meters away from the Dáil in extremely cold weather. The tragedies have led to many call on the government to deal with the current homeless crisis.
