Sad news this afternoon, as little boy Ronan Kennedy, 3, has passed away a short time ago.
Ronan was pulled from the water inside a swimming pool in the Quality Hotel in Youghal, east Cork, yesterday. Lifeguards on duty administered emergency CPR and the boy was rushed to Cork University Hospital and then on to Children’s University Hospital in Temple St., Dublin for specialist care.
Sadly however, the child has lost his fight for life.
While the circumstances of how Ronan got into the swimming pool on his own are unclear, it is believed that there was a children’s event taking place near the pool complex. Somehow the child slipped away unseen and entered a swimming pool, where he was found floating face down a short time later.
