Tragic loss at Oasis Wembley Concert as fan (40s) dies after fall

A tragic incident marred Oasis’s sold-out reunion concert at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, as a man in his 40s died after falling from the upper tier of the 90,000-capacity venue. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers, along with venue medics and the London Ambulance Service, responded to reports of an injured person at approximately 10:19 PM. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, with injuries consistent with a fall.

Witnesses described the scene as “horrific,” with one concertgoer in section 211 recounting, “At first, I thought it was a coat falling, but then I saw the man on the concrete. It was devastating.” The incident occurred toward the end of the show, during fireworks following Oasis’s performance of *Champagne Supernova*.

Oasis, led by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, expressed their grief in a statement: “We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.” Wembley Stadium also offered condolences, noting that the victim’s family is being supported by specially trained police officers.

The Metropolitan Police are urging witnesses or anyone with mobile phone footage to come forward, quoting reference 7985/02AUG. The investigation is expected to be referred to the Health and Safety Executive. Despite the tragedy, Oasis’s scheduled performance at Wembley on Sunday night will proceed as planned.

The incident has cast a shadow over the band’s highly anticipated Live ’25 Tour, which marks their first performances together in 16 years. Fans have taken to social media to share heartfelt tributes, with one writing, “No one should go to a gig and not make it home. My thoughts are with his family.”
