Tragic: Man drowns trying to save his dog in rough sea’s off the South-west coast of England




There was some tragic news announced in the UK man this morning after a man drowned whilst trying to rescue his dog from the sea.

The tragic incident occurred at Port Mellon, near Mevagissey, Cornwall, on the South-west coast of England. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said they were called along with the emergency services about the incident at approximately 11am this morning, with initial reports stating two people got into difficulty in an effort to save the dog.

It is believed that one person was pulled out of the water after members of the public and brought them to the shore, whilst the second person was recovered from the sea by the Coastguard helicopter and taken to hospital. In a statement Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Sadly the man has now been confirmed as deceased.” “Initial reports are that the deceased entered the sea in an effort to rescue his dog which had gone into the water.” “No further details will be released at this time.”
