It has been confirmed that ten people tragically lost their lives in last night’s fire at a halting site in south Dublin. Five children are among the dead, including a six-month-old baby.
All the victims were sleeping inside a portacabin that caught fire. The site holds both portacabins and caravans.
The blaze broke out in the early hours of this morning at a halting site on the Glenamuck Road, Carrickmines, south Dublin.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but it is not believed to be suspicious.
Tributes and condolences have been pouring in all day since news of the tragedy spread.
