Gardai have confirmed the young man shot while standing on the street in Dublin’s Sheriff St has died of his injuries.
The man was shot at 12:35pm outside a pub on the junction of Sheriff St and Oriel St in the North inner city.
The area is close to that of the Hutch family.
Gardai said the man was unknown to them and that it was unusual because they patrol the area regularly and that it could well be a case of mistaken identity.
He was shot in the head when he was standing on the street outside a pub on the corner of Sheriff St and Oriel St.
Gardai have appealed for witnesses to ring the confidential line of 1800-666-111.
