Tragic: Today marks the 39th anniversary of the Stardust tragedy

On Valentine’s Day in 1981, a nightclub packed with young people were out enjoying themselves when tragedy stuck.

A fire broke out in the Artane based nightclub, and between a combination or locked exit doors and pandemonium, 48 people tragically lost their lives in a story that went around the world.

Many of today’s safety regulations are a direct measure of the tragedy that befell the Dublin nightclub 39 years ago today.

Please take a moment to read the names and say a prayer for the young lives that were lost in the Stardust Nightclub fire Artane, Dublin, February 14th 1981 and their families and friends.
