Gardai in Co Westmeath have sadly confirmed that a woman has been killed following a road traffic incident this afternoon.
It is understood that the woman aged in her 40s was killed following a collision between a car and a truck at Glascarn, Rathconrath, near Mullingar at approximately 1pm.
Gardai say the driver of the truck was uninjured in the collision.
They added that an investigation into the crash is currently ongoing.
