It’s understood that up to 20 people will be given the door at The Times Ireland newspaper.
According to RTE, the poorly sold print version of the paper as it currently exists is to cease publication.
According to RTE, in a statement, the company said a consultation process had begun with staff at the newspaper and that the company was proposing a return to the International edition in print, but that no final decision had been made at this point.
RTE reports that staff were told at a meeting that they’re all getting the door except for three jobs, which had to reapplied for.
It’s understood that they’ll revert to a digital-only edition which many believe isn’t widely read either.
