Irishman Vincent Martin Crowe is to go on trial in Perth, Australia, or the murder of 21-yr-old Kenny Meyler. Mr Crowe was originally for grievous bodily harm with intent, but the charge was later changed to murder.
In the Western Australia Supreme Court today, the jury heard how Mr Crowe had admitted to manslaughter but that was not accepted by the prosecution and the trial would now be a murder trial.
The trial begins tomorrow and is expected to last 2 weeks. Mr Crowe could face a mandatory life sentence if convicted.
