Two separate trails are being tested for the treatment of the Ebola virus. Several hundred patients will be involved in the tests.

The two trails that are being carried out are: Brincidofovir, from the US and Favipiravir, from Japan.

Only people who’re affected with the virus and gave consent will be given the medication. It is believed that the trails will see how well the blood plasma from a Ebola survivor  works on someone who is still infected.

If the treatment shows harm or benefits the trails can be stopped early.

Results are believed to be available in February 2015.
