
An Irish man has sadly died after getting into trouble while swimming in the sea in the southeast of Spain. The incident happened Monday evening.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it is aware of the man’s passing.
A spokesperson for the Department said it is providing consular assistance to the man’s family.
Emergency services were alerted at 5pm on Monday that a swimmer had been pulled out of the water unconscious at Cala Capitán. The man, aged in his 70s, was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
