An 80-yr-old man died after being hit by a car in Gorey, Co Wexford, on Thursday evening, reports Breaking News.
The collision between a car and a pedestrian took place in Aske commune near Gori around 7.30pm.
As a result of the collision, an 80-yr-old man fell on his leg and was seriously injured.
His body was taken from the scene to University Hospital Waterford mortuary, where a post-mortem will be carried out, reports Breaking News.
The scene of the collision is currently being secured for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The detour is in effect.
Gardaí in Gorey are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
All road users who may have footage from cameras (including car cameras) and who were travelling near Aske at the time of the collision are asked to share this footage with police, reports Breaking News.
