Tributes paid after pedestrian dies in after being struck by a car




A male pedestrian in his 50s has died after being hit by a car in Co Kildare in the early hours of Monday morning, reports RTE.

The collision occurred at around 5.25am in the Mylerstown area of Robertstown, reports RTE.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body has since been taken to hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

The area remains sealed off to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to conduct a technical examination, reports RTE.

Gardaí are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

Anyone who was travelling in the area between 5.00am and 5.45am and who may have camera footage, including dashcam recordings, is requested to make this available to investigating Gardaí, reports RTE.
