Tributes paid as another man has sadly died following two-car collision

A man in his 60s has died after a road traffic incident in Co Westmeath.

The two-vehicle collision happened shortly before 2.15pm on Friday, December 19th, on the Royal Canal Way at Cushinstown, Killucan, reports Breaking News.

After the crash, one of the drivers, a man in his 60s, became ill and was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

No other people involved in the collision required medical treatment, reports Breaking News.

Gardaí said the scene has been examined and the local Coroner has been informed.

A post-mortem examination will be arranged, with the findings helping gardaí decide how to proceed with their investigation, reports Breaking News.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward. Road users who were in the area at the time and who may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, are also being asked to make this available to investigators.
