Tributes paid to man (40s) who sadly died in a crash in Co Mayo




In a traffic accident in County Mayo, a man in his 40s lost his life, reports RTE.

Around 10am on Thursday morning, a single car collided on the N59 near Ballycroy, Westport.

At the scene, the man—who was riding alone—was declared dead, reports RTE.

There are local detours in place and the N59 Mulranny to Bangor Erris route is blocked.

Any witnesses, especially drivers with dash cam or other video material, are urged by the Garda to call the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, Westport Garda Station at 098 50230 or any Garda station, reports RTE.

The man’s passing raises the total number of fatalities on Irish roads since the year’s began to 16.
