
A 23-year-old NHS nurse has died after working a 12-hour shift and he had noted while working that he and his colleagues were not being given the proper protective gear to work with when carrying for patients infected with the Covid-19 virus.
John Alagos came home on Friday night from a night shift at Watford Genera Hospital and began fell ill complaining of a fever and headache when after a few hours he lost consciousness and died.
Mr Alagos is third and so far, the youngest nurse in the UK to die of the Chinese virus.
Gina Gustilo, Mr Alagos’ mother, told the UK’s Mail on Sunday that the hospital refused to let her son return home when his regular shift was finished as the hospital was short-staffed despite the fact that he had already begun to exhibit symptoms and feel unwell.
Mr Alagos’ colleagues confirmed that they were not given the correct protective gear to guard against infection from the Coronavirus.
