A pedestrian who was one of four people who sadly died during a terrifying weekend on the roads has received tributes, reports The Mirror.

Greg Lynch, 57, lost his life on Friday after being hit by a car at Flowerhill in Navan, County Meath. The town’s St. Mary’s Park resident, Mr. Lynch, inset, was characterised as “a true gentleman and a massive Liverpool supporter.”

Cllr. Edward Fennessy, the mayor of Navan, sent his “deepest sympathy” to the victim’s friends and family.

The Sinn Fein councillor aid “It was a terrible accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time’’, reports The Mirror.

Friends also paid tribute. One said: “A light of life in the town of Navan that has gone out too soon. Greg was always so generous and helpful. Always going out of his way. Will be missed by many. Greg was a man of truth, pure energy, an exceptional hard worker, the very very very best of the best, enjoyed a sense of humour, always positive,” reports The Mirror.

His father Pat, sisters Joan, Karen, and Gillian, and mother Brenda predeceased Mr. Lynch. Funeral plans have not yet been finalised.

Another said “never knew Greg personally, just knew him as a familiar and friendly face from the town, with lots of friends. Deepest condolences to Greg’s dad and all his family at this sad time,” reports The Mirror.
