A cyclist has died after a collision with a car in County Carlow, reports RTE.
The incident occurred on the N80 at Kilmeany around 11pm Saturday night.
The cyclist, a man in his 20s, was declared dead at the scene, reports RTE.
His remains have been transferred to Waterford University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is scheduled to be carried out.
Gardaà confirmed that no other injuries were reported in the crash.
The section of road between the Tinryland junction and the M9 has been closed to allow for a forensic investigation, reports RTE.
Gardaà are appealing for witnesses and are asking anyone who was in the area between 10.45pm and 11.10pm, particularly those with camera or dash-cam footage, to come forward.

This marks the second fatal cycling incident in a 24-hour period.
