Tributes pour in as former South Africa Rugby player Chester Williams sadly passes away aged 49




Tributes have poured in from across the world for former South Africa Rugby player Chester Williams.

Williams sadly passed away at the age of 49 following a heart attack the South Africa Rugby confirmed.

The Paarl born player is best remembered for scoring four tries as South Africa went on to 1995 Rugby World Cup.

Williams who was the only black player in that title winning squad is also remembered for his spells with Western Province and the Golden Lions, along with his spell with Super Rugby side the Cats.

Following his retirement in 2001 Williams went on to coach the South African Rugby Sevens side and had most recently took a role at the University of the Western Cape as head rugby coach.
