Tributes pour in for 22-yr-old Laois man who sadly died on Greek holiday

Tributes were paid to Rory Deegan of Cullohill, Co. Laois, who died in Greece last Sunday, reports RTE,

Mr. Deegan traveled to Greece with about 30 friends a month.

The 22-year-old is believed to have been found unconscious in a swimming pool by friends on the island of Zakynthos.

Mr. Deegan had much younger success.

In a Harps statement, the GAA Club of Durrow paid tribute to Mr Deegan, saying “he was a shining light, with an infectious smile and character”, reports RTE,

“We are saddened with grief and sorrow as we mourn the loss of our cherished club member and friend, Rory Deegan. He lit up the lives of all who knew him. He loved life and loved making others happy, he always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone he encountered. Rory was a people’s person, his bubbly personality brought happiness and joy to everyone who walked in his path,” the club said, reports RTE.

Mr. Deegan was part of a well-known family with a prominent business in Urlingford, County Kilkenny.
