Tributes pour in for 3-yr-old Rosaleen McDonagh who was sadly killed in Co Laois collision

A three-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in Co Laois, reports Breaking News.

Locally, the little one was named Rosalyn McDonagh.

The collision between a car and a pedestrian happened on Cosby Avenue in the Fairgreen residential area of Portlaoise at around 1.15pm on Wednesday.

The child was taken to Midland Regional Hospital but was later pronounced dead.

The Cosby Avenue scene was cordoned off after the incident to facilitate technical examinations by Garda collision forensic investigators.

Several bouquets of flowers were placed on the nearby wall.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.

Any road users or pedestrians who were in the Fairgreen area of Portlaoise between 12.45pm and 1.30pm and who may have camera or dash cam footage are asked to hand it to police, reports Breaking News.

Tragedy on Irish roads

In a week of tragedy on Irish roads, seven people have been killed in two separate road crashes in Co Tipperary.

The funeral for Nicole Murphy (18) will be held in St. Petersburg on Thursday at 12 p.m. John the Baptist in Kilcash near Clonmel.

Ms Murphy died along with Zoe Coffey and Grace McSweeney, both 18, and Miss McSweeney’s 24-year-old brother Luke.

On Friday, McSweeney was taking teenagers on a bus when the vehicle overturned and hit a wall in Clonmel.

Then a teenager and his grandparents were killed in a single-car crash in Cashel on Tuesday night.

Thomas O’Reilly, 45, his wife Bridget O’Reilly, 46, and their three-year-old grandson Tom O’Reilly were killed.

The child’s parents were both 22 years old at the time of the accident.

Meanwhile, two motorcyclists in their 40s were killed in separate road crashes in Dublin and Belmont, Co. Offaly on Sunday evening, reports Breaking News.

A 40-year-old man was killed in Bridgend, Co. Donegal on Tuesday morning.
