Joey Forker passed away after a tragic incident at his home in Meenmore, Dungloe, on Friday evening.
The 9-yr-old attended St Crone’s National School in the local area, reports Breaking News.
He was the second of three sons born to well-known locals, Joe and Audrey Forker, who cherished their young boys dearly.
Those close to the family shared that Joey had a keen interest in all kinds of machinery and was always eager to lend a hand to his dad.
On Saturday, the Forkers were surrounded by friends and family offering comfort and support after Friday evening’s heartbreaking accident, reports Breaking News.
Social media was flooded with hundreds of heartfelt tributes and condolences for the grieving family.

Close family friend and local TD, Pat the Cope Gallagher, urged the public to keep the Forker family in their thoughts during this sorrowful time.
He said “I humbly ask that in the days ahead that our prayers and all our moral support are guided towards helping the family of the deceased at this devastating time,” reports Breaking News.

The much-loved student of St Crona’s National School will be laid to rest at Magheragallon Cemetery in Gaoth Dobhair following his funeral mass at St Crona’s Church, Dungloe.
Funeral arrangements have been made public. The notice states: “The tragic death has occurred at his home of Joey Forker. Predeceased by his grandparent Nora Forker and grandparents nana Nora Friel and his papa Paddy Friel. Survived by his heartbroken parents Audrey and Joe, loving brothers Jason and Jordan, grandparent Willie, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends. Reposing at McGlynns funeral home, Dungloe on Monday 25th August from 3pm – 5pm. Removal strictly private to family home and house strictly private at all times. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12 noon in St Crona’s Church Dungloe with interment in Magheragallon Cemetery, Gweedore,” reports Breaking News.
