Following a girl being injured over the weekend after being struck by a scrambler in Dulbin, Councillor John-Kingsley Onwumereh, who represents Fianna Fáil in Blanchardstown-Mulhuddart, told RTE that the dangerous use of scramblers and their electric alternatives is an “ongoing issue.”
“The regularity with which these incidents are happening is a huge concern to everyone in the area”, the councillor claimed, saying that electric scramblers are significantly dangerous – “They are quieter, they are faster, and they can sneak up on you.”
He wants stricter regulations of these vehicles and mandatory registration.
