
A man in his 40s has died and four others were injured following a two-car collision on the L1135 near Pullagh, Pallasgreen, Co Limerick, on Sunday night.
The collision occurred shortly before 10pm, gardaà said, reports Breaking News.
The man, who was the driver and sole occupant of his vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His remains have been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course, reports Breaking News.
A female driver in her 50s and a teenage girl were both brought to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries.
A female passenger in her 20s and a teenage boy were also brought to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, reports Breaking News.
The road is closed pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.
Gardaà are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward, and road users with camera footage — including dash-cam — from the L1135 near Pullagh, Pallasgreen between 9:30pm and 10pm on Sunday are asked to make it available to investigating gardaÃ, reports Breaking News.
An Garda SÃochána said it is aware that images and video footage related to the incident are circulating on social media and messaging platforms, and is appealing to anyone who receives such content to refrain from sharing or reposting it.
