The cause of Jason’s death has not been disclosed.

A post on the Scarlettarmy Facebook page, which was set up after the assault on Scarlett in Birdhill last month, described the situation as “further Heartbreak for the Faulkner family”, reports Breaking News.

“It’s with a broken heart we must announce that Scarlett’s beloved brother Jason has sadly passed away. Banny and Mary have been utterly destroyed by these events. It’s utterly heartbreaking for them.

“The killing of Scarlett has destroyed this poor family, God Bless you Jason, we will pray for your soul and pray that you can now find peace with your sister Scarlett,” the post read, concluding with an appeal for prayers for the family, reports Breaking News.

Scarlett, 28, from Limerick, had been on life support at Cork University Hospital for three weeks after suffering severe injuries in a roadside attack on the R494 near Birdhill on March 21st.

Her family, who had maintained a constant vigil at her bedside, confirmed she died on Monday, April 13th, reports Breaking News.

Her funeral took place in Limerick City on Friday, April 17th.

Gardaí at Nenagh Garda Station are continuing to investigate the attack, and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them on (067) 05450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station, reports Breaking News.
