
Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a “warm, wonderful, engaging” mother of three from Co Cork who tragically passed away on Mother’s Day, reports The Mirror.
Clodagh Foley (née Hickey), originally from Glounthaune but residing in Ballyduff Upper, Co Waterford, for several years, passed away “suddenly but peacefully” on Sunday (March 30) while in the care of Bon Secours Hospital in Cork.
A death notice posted on RIP.ie remembers Clodagh as the “adored mam of Walter, Joseph and Declan, much loved daughter of Winnie (née Waterman) and Jim Hickey, loving sister of Niamh and Maeve, father-in-law Cam and mother-in-law Eileen Foley, sisters-in-law Anne Moore and Maria Murray, uncles Bill Waterman, Pat and Finbarr Hickey, aunts Evelyn Walsh, Phyllis Geasley, Breda Donegan, Carmel O’Callaghan and the late Valerie O’Connor, her many cousins, especially Laura, relatives, neighbours and friends,” reports The Mirror.

Clodagh worked alongside her husband James as Managing Director of Coolydoody Farm, a dairy farm and sustainable, farmer-led processing facility that supports small-scale beef, pork, sheep, and poultry producers throughout the Southeast, reports The Mirror.
Clodagh was a well-known figure in the local community, and her sudden passing has deeply affected those around her. Friends, neighbours, and acquaintances have taken to social media to share emotional tributes, describing the mother of three as “an absolute force of nature.”
One close pal said: “So very sad to hear of Clodagh’s passing. Devastated for all Clodagh’s family and friends, especially her little boys whom she loved so much. She was an amazing woman. Rest easy Clodagh,” reports The Mirror.
A friend of the family’s said: “Sincere sympathies to the Foley and Hickey families and her good friends. Clodagh was a pleasure to have known her. Her love for the 3 boys was endless. She had great plans for the future and put Cooladoody on the map for her wonderful home produce,” reports The Mirror.
A close friend said: “We are so so sad that Clodagh has passed away. What a lady. Great fun, genuinely kind and always smiling. Thinking of James, Walter, Joseph, Declan and all her family at this very sad time,” reports The Mirror.
Another person said: “To Clodagh’s family I am so so sorry for your loss. I first met Clodagh in Tullamore at QOTL and she was just the nicest, friendliest person. My sincerest condolences to her boys and James (she spoke so fondly of you and obviously loved you so much),” reports The Mirror.
