
Heartfelt tributes have been made to a “beautiful and kind” woman from Co Cork who passed away in Spain over the weekend, reports The Mirror.
Joanne Catherine Kelleher, a native of Kilmore Heights in Cork City, died “unexpectedly” last Sunday (March 30) while on a trip to Spain with her mother, Margaret.
Her family posted a death notice that remembers Catherine as the “dearly beloved daughter of Margaret and step-daughter of John, much loved sister of Lorraine, Grace and Stephen, beloved granddaughter of Joe and the late Anne, loving aunt of Saoirse, Seán, Fiadh, Keela and the late twins Tadhg and Cadhla and niece of the late Catherine and John,” reports The Mirror.
The notice continued that she will be “sadly missed by her heartbroken mother, family, aunts Ann and Siobhan, brother-in-law Chris, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.”
Many have taken to social media to honour the much-loved young woman, remembering her as someone who “brought laughter and fun and carried a strength that inspired those around her,” reports The Mirror.

“So so sad to hear of the death of Joanne. Our prayers and thoughts are with you Mags and John, and family. Such beautiful and kind girl she was. Heartbreaking. Thinking of you of you at this very sad time,” one message read.
A friend from childhood shared: “Oh Margaret my heart is broken for you and your children. I’m so very sorry to hear the tragic news about Joanne. So many memories from out the front in Kilmore Heights as kids playing games over in the field making houses the ice cream man etc. I’m so so sorry Margaret it’s absolutely devastating news I can’t believe it. May Joanne rest in eternal peace and may God look after you all in your darkest days,” reports The Mirror.
Another tribute said: “I am deeply saddened by the passing of Joanne, a remarkable woman. She brought laughter and fun and carried a strength that inspired those around her. I will miss her friendship, her laughter, and the genuine kindness she so freely gave. My thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to her family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” reports The Mirror.
And one more message added: “Margaret, John, Lorraine, Grace, Stephen and extended families. We are so sorry to hear the sad news about lovely Joanne. She was always so welcoming to us and always made us smile A lovely beautiful girl inside and out. Margaret you always spoke so highly of her and we are devastated for ye all. Ye are all in our thoughts RIP Joanne,” reports The Mirror.
Catherine’s family has said funeral details will be shared at a later time.
