President Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh, has been approved by the Senate committee that investigated his suitability for the role and claims of sexual assault CNN reports.
Democrats on the committee, desperate to delay Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, managed to convince a Republic committee member to back a week’s delay to the final Senate vote to allow yet another FBI background check.
The new probe that will be limited in scope and last a maximum of a week will go over the same statements that Judge Kavanaugh and his accuser Dr. Christine Blassey Ford gave to the Senate Committee.
Unless the FBI background check, of which Kavanaugh has already had six, discovers serious new evidence he is most likely to be appointed to the Supreme Court for life giving conservative judges a majority.
