Social media giants Twitter and Facebook have suspended Donald Trump’s account due to policy violations.
The suspensions were issued on foot of chaotic scenes in Washington on Wednesday evening, as thousands of MAGA supporters flooded the capital’s streets and stormed the Capitol building. These actions were perceived as having been incited by Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric.
Four people died during the unrest. One woman was shot dead in unclear circumstances, and three other people died from health-related issues.
