
Popular social media site, Twitter has replaced its star-shaped ‘favourite’ icon with a heart-shaped icon called ‘like’. The change was made in an effort to re-invigorate the site as user growth is slowing.
We want to make Twitter easier and more rewarding to use, and we know that at times the star could be confusing, especially to newcomers,” product manager Akarshan Kumar said in a blog post. “You might like a lot of things, but not everything can be your favorite.”
“The heart, on the other hand, is a universal symbol and more expressive,” the company said.
